What to do on bin collection day
You should:
- make sure we can get to your bins safely
- only put your bins and boxes out the evening before collection
- leave your bin near the highway if you live at the end of a long private drive or lane
- make sure your bins are not causing an obstruction
- collect your bins or boxes as soon as possible after emptying
- remember additional space will be required around the bin or box for opening and to allow them to be removed
- in windy weather please ensure your bags and boxes are weighted or secured
We may not collect your bin if it is:
- too heavy
- overflowing and the lid will not close
- contaminated with the wrong items
If you need help taking your bins out, you can request for an assisted collection.
If your bin collection was missed you can report it to us
Preparing your recycling for collection
Make sure:
- there's no plastic bags or food wrappings of any kind should be placed in your recycling bin - this is the biggest reason for contamination
- your recycling box lid can’t blow open in the wind for rain to get in.
- all recycling is loose with boxes folded flat
