About the cemetery
Grange Fell Cemetery opened in 1889 with its first burial on the 30th of September of that year. It is a quiet rural cemetery about half a mile above the tow opposite Grange Fell Golf Club.
The cemetery is separated with the newer section above the central footpath to the left and the older section below.
The first half of the site moving away from the gatehouse is consecrated, the next section being unconsecrated and then the Roman Catholic Section is at the back of the site.
There is an area for the burial of cremated remains in line with the gatehouse up the hill.

The gatehouse which is the main entrance to the cemetery, is used as storage for the council's contractor and a basic public toilet is also located within this building.
