About the cemetery
Kendal Parkside Road Cemetery opened in 1855 with its first burial on the 14th of September. It is a large site extending to over 17 acres and crosses both sides of the road.
The cemetery contains consecrated and unconsecrated sections as well as sections dedicated to Roman Catholic and Islamic burials.
Facilities
Two chapel buildings within the site were built, one still serving as a funeral chapel, the second a former public mortuary is now used as a store for the council's contractor.
The two cemetery lodges within the grounds are now private residences and the residents should not be disturbed, except in an emergency.

Layout
The site is large and if you are looking for a specific grave, we recommend speaking with bereavement services who will be happy to provide details of the grave's location.
We advise you do this as soon as possible as we regret, we can not always answer queries immediately.
