About the cemetery
Sedbergh Cemetery opened in 1890 with its first burial on the 31st of October. It is a large site extending to around 5 acres.
The cemetery is fully consecrated. There is also an area for the burial of cremated remains.
Facilities
The buildings within the site are used mainly for storage including the shed, storeroom and gate house. A small toilet block is available during the summer season.

1 April to 31 October
8am to 8.30pm
1 November to 31 March
8am to 6.30pm
Parking facilities
Parking is available close to the main entrance on Busk Lane as well as close the bottom entrance of the cemetery.
Vehicular access is not permitted within the site due to the limited space and mixed road conditions.
We ask for your cooperation in minimising vehicles within the cemetery to preserve its peace and tranquillity.

The site is large and if you are looking for a specific grave, we recommend speaking with bereavement services who will be happy to provide details of the grave's location.
We advise you do this as soon as possible as we regret, we can not always answer queries immediately.
