The newly-refurbished Kendal Library will host an evening of live music and poetry later this month.
The event will run from 7pm until late on Thursday 20 July and tickets are just £3.50 each. It will feature five fantastic local poets and live music from members of a Californian indie folk and pop band.
U.S. singer songwriter and ukulele player, Karla Kane and multi-instrumentalist, Khoi Huynh are best known as part of the west coast group The Corner Laughers. At Kendal Library, they will offer an acoustic performance of their original songs, joined by Mark and Helen Luker.
A variety of professional poets, writers and performers will also present their fabulous poetry as part of the event, including Geoff Cox, Kerry Darbishire, Barbara Hickson, Jonathan Humble and John Alexander Scott.
Event tickets and more information about the performers are available on Eventbrite or from Kendal Library.
Cllr Virginia Taylor, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Communities and Localities for Westmorland and Furness Council, said;
“This will be a brilliant evening of entertainment, live music and inspiring poetry - and everyone’s enjoyment will be enhanced as the event will take place in the splendidly refurbished Kendal Library building. At just £3.50 per ticket the event also offers great value for money!
"Works to redesign Kendal Library are nearing completion and have transformed the space into a modern, spacious library that visitors and the Kendal community can enjoy.
"Make sure you book your ticket soon to avoid missing out on our first major event since the work has been completed. We look forward to seeing you there!"
