Family Hub celebrates one year with free family fun day 7 December

The Family Hubs have now been open a year, and a free festive celebration is happening on Saturday 7 December, 10am-1pm at the main Hub at Barrow Library. 

There will be special guest appearances from Santa's helpers, and gifts for the children, snacks and drinks.  Join in with crafts and activities, VR headsets and more. No need to book, just turn up and join in the fun. 

What is the Family Hub?

The team deliver over 100 hours a month of services across the five locations and on line at

Online, there is a learning zone, advice on pregnancy to two years, primary and junior ages, how to help and understand your teens, and lots of resources for SEND children and young people. 

During the holidays, the team engaged and supported over 900 families across a number of outreach activities, held throughout the summer holidays.

The Family Hub work in close partnership with over 28 partners from midwives to 6th-form colleges, and delivering drop in sessions to families. If you have a need for help and advice contact them by email at FamilyHubs.WAF@cumbria.gov.uk.
