Foster with Us hits the road next week to recruit more foster carers in Cumbria

Foster With Us Team

Foster with Us, the dedicated support hub for Cumbria Fostering, is embarking on an exciting journey across Cumbria to raise awareness of the critical role foster carers play in transforming the lives of vulnerable children. The initiative aims to inspire more individuals and families to consider fostering and make a lasting impact on young lives in need of care.

In a bid to spread the word and engage the community, the Foster with Us team, led by Christine, Ruth, and Becky, will be traveling in a specially equipped campervan generously donated by Wild Camper Trucks. The team will be visiting locations throughout Cumbria, providing an opportunity for anyone interested in fostering to meet with them directly, ask questions, and learn more about what it takes to become a foster carer.

The need for foster carers in Cumbria is greater than ever. Many children and young people entering the care system have faced difficult and traumatic experiences and are in need of loving, stable homes. The local councils are calling on the community to come forward and provide that support by opening their hearts and homes to these vulnerable children.

Fostering is about more than just providing a safe roof over a child’s head; it’s about offering love, care, patience, and understanding. Fostering requires a commitment to nurturing a child's potential and helping them overcome the challenges they may have faced earlier in life.

If you're over the age of 21 and have the space in your life to help, fostering could be the perfect opportunity for you to make a real difference. The Foster with Us hub offers ongoing support, guidance, and information to potential carers, answering questions about the application process, training, financial support, and the day-to-day reality of fostering.

The Foster with Us team is available seven days a week and can be contacted at any time for advice or information with no obligation to proceed. Whether you're curious about the support available to foster carers or want to learn more about the impact fostering can have, the team is ready to help.

Together, we can help create brighter futures for the children and young people of Cumbria.
