New leaflet showcases the Eden area

Images of two children and a bike, a stone sculpture and a person looks at some paintings.

Fantastic walking and cycling, exciting outdoor adventures, tasty local food and drink, a fascinating history and culture, wonderful places to stay and a wide range of events all go to make Eden a great place to visit.

A new Visit Eden leaflet has been produced by the Economic Development and Regeneration Team at Westmorland and Furness Council to actively promote this message to potential visitors. The publication will also be great for local people to give them ideas about where to go on their doorstep, with friends and family.

The leaflet contains stunning images of the area which compliments the range of activities on offer in the Eden Valley area, Ullswater, Alston and the North Pennines and is available just in time for the May Bank Holiday and Half Term break.

Cllr Virginia Taylor, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Communities and Localities, said “The new leaflet will help promote our beautiful Eden area and our local businesses to visitors and locals alike. The publication is full of ideas about where to visit and how to get there. It encourages the use of sustainable transport options, as well as giving tips on how to be prepared and safe in the countryside. As a council we are keen to continue to promote the local businesses who support our visitor economy.”

The visitor economy makes a huge contribution to the value of our local economy and has the ability to continue to grow and develop. Westmorland and Furness Council is committed to the sustainable growth of this business sector.

The leaflets are available from local Tourist Information Centres and via a local distribution campaign.
