Westmorland and Furness Council has announced the launch of free premium access to the Anya App for all parents and parents-to-be within their council area.
This innovative app provides 24/7 support and guidance on pregnancy, parenting, and infant feeding, empowering families with the tools and resources they need during this crucial period.
Recognising the unique challenges faced by new parents, the council aims to enhance the well-being of families by providing accessible and reliable support. The Anya App offers a range of features, including:
- Anya AI Virtual Companion: An AI-powered resource available 24/7 to answer questions and provide personalised guidance.
- Specialist Chat: Direct access to qualified professionals for personalised support and advice.
- Live Infant Feeding Web Drop-ins: Convenient online sessions with experts for real-time support and guidance.
- Interactive Breastfeeding Animations: Engaging visual aids to enhance understanding and confidence.
- Comprehensive Content Library: A wealth of evidence-based information and resources on various aspects of pregnancy and parenting.
“We understand that the early years of parenthood can be a challenging time,” said Cllr Patricia Bell, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health at Westmorland and Furness Council.
“The Anya App provides a valuable resource for parents in Westmorland and Furness, offering support and guidance whenever they need it.”
Cllr Janet Battye, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Education at Westmorland and Furness, added: “Technology has a big part to play in how we provide care and support to children and families in Westmorland and Furness. Whilst this will not replace key face to face support offered by health visitors and the NHS, it will provide an additional resource for parents 24 hours a day, when it’s more difficult to speak to someone in person.”
