Westmorland & Furness Council’s Cabinet has given its unanimous backing to the Penrith Business Improvement District (BID), as local businesses take part in a ballot to secure a proposed third 5-year term for the organisation.
A once-in-a-generation scheme to transform part of Barrow’s town centre is to go ahead after planning permission for a key aspect of the project was secured.
Moves are under way to invest £7.3 million of government funding in projects which support local businesses and communities in Westmorland and Furness.
