Westmorland and Furness Council has launched the next stage of its work to promote fairness across the area, with the start of Phase 2 of its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Plan.

Residents reminded to subscribe to garden waste collections by 28 June to continue to receive collections uninterrupted.

Westmorland and Furness Council has issued fines to a group found causing anti-social behaviour and environmental damage whilst camping on the shores of Ullswater. The enforcement action forms part of a wider programme of proactive patrols led by the council in partnership with Cumbria Police, responding to concerns from residents and landowners about recurring issues at popular visitor sites.

British Telecommunications Ltd has been ordered to a total of £9,500 after pleading guilty to offences relating to unsafe street works.
