Permanent Full Time Assistant Headteacher

Start date: Monday 16th April 2024 or earlier if possible<br/><br/>Assistant Headteacher<br/><br/>We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team as the school expands and develops its high-quality provision for learners with severe learning disabilities aged 4 to 19 years. The students all have an EHCP and may have medical needs.<br/><br/>Sandside Lodge School is a vibrant establishment in Westmorland and Furness. It offers its learners a highly personalised curriculum that supports communication positive behaviour and independence. The school is a Move Centre of Excellence and was Cumbria’s first NAS Advanced Accreditation status. We are Cumbria’s Youth Sport Trust Lead Inclusion School and are currently working towards a Well Being Award. The school also follows the Thrive Approach with a major focus on trauma informed practice. The resources allow for EHCP targets to be followed and include a hydro therapy pool and trampoline room to support regulation and for those to follow Winstrada through Rebound Therapy. Through our Outreach provision there is also a high focus on supporting staff development in other educational settings who are facing challenges with learners.<br/><br/>We are looking for a proven outstanding leader/manager with some experience of teaching students with SEND. The successful applicant must be able to coordinate and motivate teams and also be able to coach and mentor staff across the school. We are looking for someone to become one of 3 Assistant Headteachers who are approachable and adaptable and have excellent organisational communication skills.
