Teaching Assistant Required

  • Initially offered as a Fixed-Term position, 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only due to pupil numbers
  • Single Status PCD5 £23,893 per annum

(Please note, Pro-Rata Salary plus, Annual Leave based on continuous years’ service)

The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role

  • Starting 15th April, 2024 although, a later start date would be considered for the right candidate

Flookburgh CE Primary School is a friendly, warm and welcoming village school with a dedicated and highly motivated staff team.  We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Teaching Assistant who is keen to be part of our team and is committed to delivering the best possible educational experiences for our children.

The role is to predominantly support children within our Nursery (age-range 2 to 3-year olds) however, experience of working across the wider primary age-range would be beneficial. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children in the early years including in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs particularly those with language and communication delay. They will also be patient, hardworking and have high expectations of themselves and their pupils. 

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in education/teaching and learning/early years
  • A minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics grade C or equivalent
  • Willingness to undertake necessary training as the role demands
  • Support and understanding of our Christian ethos and vision
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • An ability and desire to develop close working relationships with parents and colleagues
  • A great sense of humour and fun!
  • Is hard working and will enjoy providing a wide variety of learning experiences alongside colleagues
  • Is flexible, motivated and willing to participate in the wider life of the school for example, staff meetings; school events and activities; extra-curricular clubs
