Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages

Chetwynde School/SCMAT: Full-time (1.0FTE), permanent from April 2024

Salary Range : MPR/UPR depending on experience

A unique opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and passionate MFL Teacher to join our vibrant educational community in Barrow in Furness. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to teach MFL across all key stages (KS2 to GCSE) in our all-through school (0.8), as well as contribute to the development of MFL teaching in a number of primary schools within our Multi Academy Trust (0.2).

This is an opportunity for a dedicated and innovative MFL Teacher to make a significant impact on the language education journey of students within our all-through school and beyond. If you are enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and ready to contribute to the growth of MFL teaching in our Multi Academy Trust, we encourage you to apply.

Chetwynde is a thriving school for children from the ages of 3 to 16. In December 2023 it was rated GOOD by Ofsted in all areas with inspectors praising the way pupils are ‘eager to learn’. It provides an all-through education that is supportive, aspirational and inspiring.

It was the founding school of South Cumbria Multi-Academy Trust, which now has five other primary schools across Barrow and is invested in driving up standards in education. The schools are Ormsgill, Vickerstown, South Walney Juniors, Cambridge Primary and Newbarns Primary and Nursery School. The ideal candidate, who will be based at Chetwynde School, will combine excellent organisational and teaching skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

To be considered for one of these roles, you will:

  •   Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  •   Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of teachers.
  •   Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons   across all key stages.

Visits to the school are highly recommended and can be arranged by phoning Sarah Cruse on 01229 824210, Option 2.
