Ulverston Victoria High School is a happy and thriving 11-18 school and sixth form and is at the heart of the community in the picturesque South Lakeland market town of Ulverston.

An exceptional school, which is defined equally by its high academic achievements and its warmth and inclusivity, our students and their teachers work hard, seek to achieve the very highest standards in all they do and are respectful of each other and of their community.

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an inspiring and motivated teacher of mathematics. The successful candidate will have an essential ability to teach at Key Stages 3 and 4 and a desirable ability to teach at Key Stage 5.

We welcome applications from professional and effective ECTs and experienced teachers, who are keen to join our high performing team at Ulverston Victoria High School.   A full and appropriate induction programme is available for all ECTs.

The successful candidate will share our passion for education and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.  They will be clearly in tune with our values and our ethos of “children first” and be totally committed to providing a deep and rewarding experience in science for all our students regardless of their academic ability.  This is a great opportunity for an exceptional and vibrant practitioner to join and contribute to a high-performing department.

Mathematics is a vital and highly valued area of study at UVHS.  The results of the Maths department have been consistently strong.  In the most recent cohort of GCSE students to sit the exams, 23% achieved grades 7-9 and 79% achieved grades 4-9.  At A Level, 57% achieved A*-B grades and 76% achieved A*-C grades.  In Year 12, just below half of the entire cohort (165 students) opted to take Maths A Level.

UVHS is a brilliant place to be a student or teacher. There is a dynamic, caring atmosphere that pervades the whole school and a real desire to inspire and achieve.  The faculty thrives on exploring new ways of teaching and there is a real buzz of enthusiasm for the subject in the school.

If you are a candidate committed to high quality teaching and learning who wants to develop your career in an exceptional school, working closely with colleagues who share that passion, then we would be pleased to hear from you.
