Contract: Permanent, Full time, FTE 1

 ECTs welcome

To Teach Key Stage: 3 & 4

Required start: As soon as possible

St Bernard’s is a successful Catholic comprehensive school and part of the Diocese of Lancaster, serving the community of Furness and is on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

We are seeking to appoint a permanent, enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher of Geography to join our school as soon as possible. This post is suitable for either an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher.

Candidates are welcome to visit our school before applying.

Geography continues to be a popular subject at St Bernard’s, with over half of the students in Key stage 4 choosing to study it. Our location lends itself well to the teaching of Geography, and our students benefit from the many field work trips that are available to them from our doorstep.

In return we can offer you:

  • A school where “Students describe the school as a loving environment” and “Students behave in a mature and sensible way”. “They respect each other and their teachers and enjoy learning”.
  • A professional, enthusiastic and supportive team of staff with the capacity and commitment to raise student achievement.
  • Supportive parents, Governors, Diocese and Trust.
  • A well-resourced school with good results.
  • A strong commitment to developing staff and creating the leaders of tomorrow.

An application pack and further details about the post are available from: www.stbernardsschool.uk

Completed applications should be returned to: Angela Williams, angela.williams@mater-christi.com

Closing Date: 12 noon on Monday 26th February 2024
Applications will be assessed as they are submitted and we reserve the right to invite candidates for interview prior to the closing date and to make an appointment before this date. Therefore, we encourage interested applicants to apply as soon as possible.
