Beetham Church of England Primary School is a small, village school with a strong Christian ethos on the border of Cumbria and Lancashire within the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  It is housed in a Victorian building, with a large playing field situated at the heart of the village. We all work together to provide our children the best possible education, through which they can be helped and encouraged to achieve their potential. We seek to provide our children with a stimulating, safe place to learn, where they can feel secure, happy, and cared for within an environment in which they can flourish.

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, passionate and highly motivated class teacher to work in our school as part of our caring team.  The post is initially to work in our mixed Year 2/3 class, however we are looking to appoint someone who is able to show flexibility and teach across the primary range.  The post is advertised on Main Pay Range.

This post is ideal for either someone at the start of the career or someone who is looking to continue to build on their passion for teaching, as well as helping the School to develop and thrive.  Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and experienced teachers.  The post is due to begin from Easter 2024 however we are also willing to wait for the correct person.  There is also potential for this position to be a job share for the right candidate(s), and hours of work may be negotiable.

As a staff we have varied expertise in the primary curriculum.  We would be interested to know what areas of the curriculum you are skilled and passionate about and how you would be able to develop the teaching of these areas across our School.

The successful candidate should:

•    have a passion for primary education and the value of developing children in a creative and caring environment;
•    be a flexible and positive teacher who enjoys being part of a committed and dedicated staff team and who is willing to take part in the wider life of the school.

We can offer you:
•    a warm and welcoming community with happy children who are proud of their school and are enthusiastic about their learning;
•    a character and culture which is distinctively Christian and with excellent church and community links;
•    a highly professional, dedicated and friendly team, as well as a supportive Governing Body, all fully committed to the ongoing development of the whole school;
•    an established network of close partnerships with local schools, the Diocese and other agencies;
•    support for your Continuous Professional Development.
