Head Teacher

The Governors of Dean Barwick of seeking a new Head Teacher to start in September 2024

Established in 1671, we are a Voluntary Aided School situated in a small village in idyllic surroundings in the southern part of the Lake District. Dean Barwick School has always been an integral part of the village with the pupils, staff and parents contributing to the wider community wherever possible.

We were the first school in Cumbria to achieve the Learning Outside of the Classroom Gold Award and we are looking for a talented leader to continue to provide an inspiring curriculum and a nurturing place for our children to grow and learn.

• Will continue to provide their children with dedicated teaching and a peaceful and nurturing environment for learning
Our Governing Body want to appoint someone who 
• Has vision, enthusiasm, dedication and good humour and will continue the long traditions of our small school.
• Can demonstrate inspired teaching and balance that with strong management and administrative skills
• Has the inspiration to maximise the benefit of our exceptional outdoor facilities
• Will actively seek to recruit new pupils into our school
• Will proactively maintain links with the wider community
•  Will support and maintain the values and ethos of the school
