PCD5 - £23,893 annum, pro rata, term time, 31.25 hours per week.
8.30am-3.15pm
Fixed Term until 18th July 2025 linked to the number of SEND children in school.
As a teaching assistant you will be enhancing the learning of pupils who have a wide range of special educational and learning needs. You will also be supporting the teaching staff in enabling the pupils to gain independence, participate fully in the curriculum and the general life of the school. You may also be asked to work 1-1 with children who have Educational Health Care Plans in place.
The ideal candidate for this role will:
• Have prior, recent experience of working with children in an educational context.
• Have at least Level Two qualification in ‘Supporting Teaching and Learning’
• Support at lunchtime with a 30 minute lunch duty
• Be able to support pupils 1:1
• In conjunction with the SENDCO assist with the development of social skills and appropriate behaviour of pupils
• Participate in the development, delivery and monitoring of individual programmes
• Attend relevant INSET and engage with CPD
• Have a sense of creativity and be eager to get involved, working with the children and teachers on projects
• Be full of energy and enthusiasm.
• Demonstrate high level computing skills, most favorably with Apple Technology
• Have an approachable, calm and professional manner.
• Have positive behaviour management skills.
• Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in working practices and the ability to know when to use initiative.
• Have a strong academic background with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Set high expectations in line with the school's standards.
• Have positive working relationships with children, staff and parents
