Appleby Primary School is a thriving school in Appleby in Westmorland with a dedicated specialist resource provision for 8 pupils catering to learners with a range of specific and severe learning difficulties. Our resource provision is well established and an integral part of our inclusive school; delivering a curriculum designed to meet the specific individual needs and ensure the best educational outcomes for pupils for over 20 years.  

We are seeking to recruit a knowledgeable, passionate and effective teacher to join our successful and dedicated team. We are looking for a person who has qualifications, skills, and ambition for the children to enable them to accomplish their learning and personal targets.

Working across the school, with SRP and mainstream staff, the role is suited to someone who is committed to building on their passion for providing all children with the very best learning experiences. 

The successful candidate will:
•    Demonstrate a clear understanding of what constitutes outstanding teaching and learning, particularly for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
•    Successfully adapt teaching to ensure progress for all learners from their individual starting points. 
•    Show commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity for all learners 
•    Be reflective, open to feedback and be committed to their continued professional development
•    Is a dedicated team player; able to build effective trusting relationships with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies
•    Work effectively with an experienced team of teaching assistants to ensure the effective teaching and learning of all pupils both within our specially resourced facility and in mainstream classrooms. 
•    Demonstrate optimism about children and expect the highest possible standards.
