Class Teacher 

Hours: 0.6 Part Time, September 2024 fixed term until 31st August 2025 (Due to pupil numbers)
                                           

Job Purpose:    To provide a high quality of teaching in Early Years/KS1 In line with teacher’s standards.

Applications are invited from teachers with experience of Early Years and or KS1 teaching. We are looking for someone with excellent proven teaching ability, vision and a good sense of humour.

The successful candidate should be a person who is:
     
-    Highly motivated and able to work as part of a team
-    Knowledgeable of Early Years provision, initiatives and issues, with recent experience
-    Knowledgeable about how young children learn and the importance of play
-    Knowledgeable of teaching phonics 
-    Knowledgeable about how young children acquire language skills
-    Understanding of how the outdoors can promote learning
-    A teacher with high expectations of children’s achievements and behaviour
-    An excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills
-    Someone who is able to plan collaboratively and have good organisational skills
-     A dedicated team member who is prepared to become involved in the wider life of school and community

South Walney Infant and Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and the job will be subject to DBS checks.

Visits welcomed out of school hours by appointment via the school office on the following dates: Wednesday 17th June and Thursday 18th June at 3.30pm.  
Application forms are available via the school office and also via the Westmorland and Furness Council website. A covering letter is also required with the completed application form.

The closing date for applications to be returned to school is Wednesday 26th June 2024

Successful candidates will be interviewed on Monday 1st July 2024
