Permanent, Part-Time, School Administrator

20 hours per week
Permanent
Paid weeks per year: Term-time only (38 weeks) plus 1 week

Required to Start: 4th November 2024 or earlier, if possible

The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and well organised School Administrator who can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and maintain high standards within the school office environment.

The position is required from 4th November 2024, although consideration will be given for an earlier or later start date to accommodate any notice period the successful candidate may be required to serve. (Training with the headteacher and current admin team will be offered prior to commencement, as necessary)

Excellent communication and administrative skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a highly motivated team. Experience of using school Management Information Systems (MIS) and a cashless parent payment system such as, ParentPay, is desirable but not essential as training will be given.  Some understanding of financial procedures would be beneficial but not essential however, the post does require working closely with our school finance administrator as required.

The office is a busy, happy place of work.  The administrator is most likely to be the first point of contact for visitors to school and as such will represent the Christian ethos of the establishment.  The successful candidate will be able to work efficiently and to a very high standard whilst retaining a sense of humour, a strong sense of team involvement and a positive attitude. A high degree of confidentiality is essential.

The weekly commitment of 20 hours shall be worked over 3 days; specific days or half-days, if more suitable, to be agreed with the Headteacher. Times of working shall be between 8.30am and 3.30pm as there will be a requirement to be available to parents and carers at the beginning and end of the school day.  Additional hours may be required as and when the need arises.

Flookburgh school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments will be subject to pre-employment checks which will include satisfactory references, Right to Work in the UK, an enhanced DBS check for regulated activity (to include a children’s barred list check) and a work place health assessment.

Visits to the school are welcome; please contact our finance officer or Headteacher to make an appointment either by email to: admin@flookburgh.cumbria.sch.uk or by telephoning the school office on: 015395 58434.

An application pack can be found on our school website http://www.flookburgh.cumbria.sch.uk or by contacting the Headteacher or Finance Administrator on 015395 58434.

A letter of application of no-more than one side of A4 is also required.  Your letter should refer to the job specification as well as any other, pertinent, information you would like to share to support your application.

Closing date for applications: Friday 20th September 2024
Interviews: Friday 27th September 2024
