Examinations and Data Officer

We’re looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join us as our new Examinations and Data Officer. If successful, you will be responsible for the efficient management and organisation of all examinations, and for ensuring the accuracy of our student data records.

Working with colleagues and a team of exam invigilators, responsibilities will include:

•    Ensuring the successful administration of all internal and external examinations, in accordance with the Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) regulations.
•    Organising and managing the work of a team of exam invigilators.
•    Overseeing the collection and analysis of student attainment information and examination results.
•    Ensuring the accuracy of student data to enable the termly school census.
•    Supporting the Year 9 and Year 12 options processes.

Previous experience in a similar role in a school would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.

Hours of work: ideally, we are looking to appoint a full-time colleague (37 hours/week); however, part-time working may be considered for the right candidate and whilst we envisage this to be a full-year role – again – we’re open to a conversation at interview.

About us: Ullswater Community College is a friendly, supportive employer with a lot to offer its employees. We received an Ofsted Good rating in April 2023 and were recognised as ‘Best Secondary School in Cumbria’ at the annual NewsQuest Educational awards in October 2023.

Our Staff Wellbeing group and approachable leadership team work hard to maintain a responsive and professional working environment. Benefits to you will include:
•    Membership of the Health Assured employee wellbeing programme
•    Membership of the local government pension scheme, with generous employer contributions
•    Cycle-to-work salary sacrifice scheme
•    Free eye test scheme
This is an exciting time to be joining us – we’ve been named in the school rebuilding programme and anticipate a significant investment or new build in the near future.

We invest heavily in staff development, consider the well-being of colleagues in every development and encourage staff to be fully involved in school life.

To apply
We welcome applications using either the TES application procedure or our own application form. This can be downloaded from our website, where full job details and comprehensive information about the school can also be found. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries (hr@ullswatercc.co.uk).

Closing date for applications: 9 am Monday 9 December 2024

We aim to hold interviews later the same week or early the following week
UCC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Employment at UCC is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. This means that certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’ and do not need to be disclosed; if they are disclosed, the school cannot take them into account.
Please note that we are able to contact only the successful applicants.
