PPA Cover Teacher (Fixed Term, to cover a period of maternity leave)

Salary: MPR Pro Rata

Required from : after February half term 2025.

The governors of Brough Community Primary School are looking to appoint a PPA cover teacher to join our lovely and thriving village school, from after the February half term, W/C 24th February 2025. The post will be for one full day in our fabulous Acorns Class, comprising Reception and Year 1 pupils.  The post would be suitable for all teaching applicants, from Early Career Teachers to experienced practitioners.  We are also happy to hear from qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistants, who could take the class with appropriate support and planning in place.  There is flexibility within the week as to which day this would be.  Please have a look at our website to get a feel for the school: www.broughschool.org .

This is an exciting opportunity for any teacher seeking to work in a progressive, caring school which is at the heart of its community.  We are also conscious that jobs are two-way processes and it would be just as important to hear what you would also like to get from us as a school – we are committed to delivering high-quality CPD for all staff!  As well as this one day per week, there would inevitably be the need to call upon trusted staff for extra cover periods and we would hope this appointment would be our first port of call for those requests.

The successful candidate will:
•Be an enthusiastic practitioner, keen to take on a mixed Year R/1 class (currently 19 pupils). 
•Have experience of planning for all subjects within the two key stages.
•Have a passion for the environment.
•Be up-to-date with approaches to teaching and keen to take on new challenges in the profession.
•Have familiarity and ideally, experience of delivering synthetics phonics programmes (we use Little Wandle).
•Maintain our warm and welcoming environment to enable all children to reach their full potential.
