Mainly dry with some initial sunny spells this afternoon but it will tend to cloud over. Under any clear breaks this evening, RSTs will fall to zero, especially over the high routes.
However, patchy rain, sleet and hill snow will then move in overnight, allowing RSTs to remain largely above zero on low routes but continuing the chilly, below-zero RSTs on high
ground. Later in the night and into tomorrow morning, there will be a greater potential for hill snow, especially over the Pennine routes.
