Caretaker

Job title: Part Time, Permanent, Caretaker 

Start date: 1st May 2025, or sooner (dependent on checks and clearances)

Job Family Operations, Grade 5, SCP 6, £23,310.30 per annum, pro rata £7,875.10 (term-time, plus four weeks) 

The successful candidate will work 12 hours 30 mins per week from 1 st May 2025, or sooner (dependent on checks and clearances), on a permanent contract. Hours of work will be 7am-9:30am, Monday-Friday, term-time, plus four weeks. Additional hours may be required and will be added to a timesheet. A handover with our current caretaker will take place.

The Governors of St Pius X seek to appoint a loyal, helpful and self-motivated Caretaker, to ensure our school is safe, clean and tidy.

The successful candidate:

• will be required to carry out health and safety checks.

• will be required to carry out/repair reported defects. • will be required to clean specific parts of the school. • must be proactive and use their initiative.

• must be punctual, friendly, reliable and hardworking.

• Will liaise will external contractors.

Candidates must be willing to:

 • complete L1 safeguarding.

 • complete PREVENT training.

• read all relevant policies and procedures.

• complete COSHH training.

• complete IOSH training.

For this post, prior to appointment Mater Christi Trust will apply for a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring check, a Children’s Barred list check, two satisfactory references, satisfactory pre-employment health screening and for Teachers, a Prohibition Check in relation to the children’s workforce. In some settings a Declaration will be required in order to meet our obligations under the ‘Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006’.

The successful candidate will be appointed under the terms and conditions of a CES contract which they will be required to sign.
