We are a community school with 820 students aged 11-16 years on roll. Situated in the historic town of Dalton in Furness, we enjoy being on the fringe of the Lake District National Park. Dowdales Mathematics department is a well-established team of 6 full and part time members. We are seeking an inspirational teacher to support the Academic Team Leader in the leadership and management of the team to ensure outstanding outcomes for the full cohort of students.
Our ethos as a department is that all students can achieve in Mathematics and should be provided with adaptive teaching that enables this success. Students have 4 lessons per week across both key stage 3 and 4. We follow an ambitious, newly developed scheme of work that challenges all students.
Extra curricular activities are a strength at Dowdales, and the Maths department contributes to this through educational visits, team and individual challenges and clubs.
