Early Years Nursery Assistant

From Monday June 2nd 2025 (until 29th May 2026 with a possibility of extension due to pupil numbers)

Full time 30 core hours Monday – Friday (30 minutes lunch) (plus additional hours when necessary) term time

As an Early Years Assistant, initiative and a caring, positive and flexible approach is required. The post will involve working closely in a team, supporting and providing individual care for pupils with a range of needs. The role will involve primarily working within our Pre-School and Nursery classes, with children with a wide variety of needs aged between 2 and 4 years old.

Essentials
• Is a committed, enthusiastic and has a passion for working with children
• Works well as part of a team
• Holds at least an NVQ level 2 
• Be a committed team member and be willing to become involved in the wider life of the school
• Have high expectations of both themselves and pupils
• Able to take the initiative and make decisions.

Desirables
• Confidence in dealing with children.
• NVQ level 3
• Understanding of Safeguarding in School; Health and Safety; Data Protection; Confidentiality     issues
• Will support all staff to create stimulating learning environments

Enhanced DBS clearance and medical clearance is necessary before any candidate may take up a post.

Applicants must be suitably qualified with an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Induction support will be available, and a commitment to the school’s inclusive ethos is essential.
