How to apply for the different types of permits for residents, contractors and car parks.

Kendal County Hall car park permit

The County Hall car park has a front car park and 2 rear car parks.

This permit is for cars and private or light goods passenger vehicles capable of carrying up to 7 passengers only.

Charges

You can get a permit Monday to Sunday that is:

  • monthly - this costs £31.13
  • annually - this costs £373.50

How the permit works

You'll need to register your vehicle's registration number when you pay for the permit. If you use a different vehicle, you will need to update this in your account.

The annual parking permit is only valid in the Kendal County Hall car park and is valid on the day you receive it.

You cannot transfer your permit to another car park.

How to pay 

You can only pay for one permit at a time.

Renewing your annual parking permit

You will need to renew this in your account. We do not issue reminders.

If you want to cancel your permit

You will be given a refund of any full unused months during your permit period.

Withdrawal of a permit

Your permit will be revoked without a refund if:

  • you sublet your bay or permit
  • your vehicle is not properly licensed, taxed or insured
  • you misuse the facilities offered at the car park

If we have to closed the car park

We reserve the right to withdraw a permit facility at any time without prior notice. We will provide an alternative, but if this isn't suitable then you will be given a full refund of the unexpired portion of the permit.

We will also provide temporary or permanent car park provision at any time if there are operational changes. You must not enter the car park after it is closed.
