Report a misuse of a Blue Badge

If you suspect someone is misusing a Blue Badge, you can report it to us and they may be fined £1,000.

When you should report

You should let us know if someone is:

  • using a badge who shouldn’t have one
  • using someone else’s badge
  • using their Blue Badge but is parking unlawfully or dangerously
  • displaying a badge and remaining in the vehicle whist a non-disabled person makes use of your badge for their own benefit
  • using a badge that belongs to a person that has died
  • using an out of date or expired badge

We take these offences very seriously and will continue to be vigilant in making our checks with a view to stamping out misuse.

Abuse and fraudulent use of Blue Badges undermines public confidence in the scheme and means that fewer spaces are available for those using their valid badges correctly.

How to report

To help with our investigation, you’ll need to provide any of the following:

  • the name of the badge-holder
  • a description of the person using the badge (if they aren't the badge-holder)
  • badge serial number
  • details of the misuse vehicle details - for example, the model, make and colour

All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
