How it works
You can use a season ticket:
- in the car park shown on your windscreen sticker and under the terms and conditions of your ticket
- for up to two vehicle registrations listed on your application form and windscreen sticker
Waiting lists
Season tickets are issued on a 'first come, first served' basis.
If the full allocation of tickets has already been issued, your application will be placed on a reserve list and you will be contacted if a ticket becomes available. There is currently a waiting list for Penrith car parks.
Eligible car parks
There are no designated parking spaces in these car parks for season ticket holders.
Appleby parking season ticket
An Appleby parking season ticket will let you park in Broad Close car park, Appleby.
Penrith parking season ticket
A Penrith parking season ticket will let you park in one of the following car parks:
Barrow parking season ticket
A Barrow parking season ticket will let you park in one of the following car parks:
How much they cost
The cost for a car parking season ticket in Penrith is:
- £353 for 12 months
- £188 for 6 months
The cost for a car parking season ticket in Appleby is:
- £217.50 for 12 months
- £123.50 for 6 months
The cost for a car parking season ticket in Barrow is £60 per month.
How to buy a season ticket
You can buy a 6 month or 12 months season ticket by telephone or by visiting the Penrith Town Hall.

You can pay over the phone with a credit or debit card.

Pay at the Town Hall
You can pay for your car parking season ticket with a credit, debit card or cheque made payable to Westmorland and Furness Council. Write your car registration number and 'Penrith parking' on the back of your cheque.

How to renew a car parking season ticket
We will email you a reminder to renew your season ticket. If you do not renew your ticket, then it may be reallocated to someone else on the waiting list. You can renew your ticket by:
- telephone: 0300 373 3300
- visiting Penrith Town Hall
If you change your car
You will need to tell us if your vehicle:
- registration changes
- is off road and you’re using a courtesy car - your season ticket can be transferred over to the courtesy car
You will need to return your car parking season ticket with the incorrect vehicle registration to customer services by post.

A new season ticket will then be forwarded to you free of charge.
If you no longer need your season ticket
You can reclaim unused whole months at any time during your season ticket period.
You’ll get a refund after you have returned your old ticket. You will be charged an administrative fee of £10.
