Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders: closing a road for an event

How to apply for temporary traffic regulation order (TTRO) to close a road for an event like a street party or procession.

If you're planning to hold an event and want to temporarily close the road, you must apply for a temporary traffic regulation order.

You may also have to apply if the event is likely to create extra congestion on surrounding roads.

We can make a road closure order for ‘rolling-road’ events like parades, carnivals and processions.

We can also make an order for ‘static' events, including Christmas light switch-ons and street parties.
