Traffic Regulation Orders

What Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) are used for, proposed orders and made orders.

A traffic regulation order (TRO) is a legal change to the rules of the road, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Orders enforce traffic and parking restrictions, such as:

  • one way routes
  • speed limits
  • controlled parking zones
  • yellow lines
  • loading restrictions

Changes can either be permanent, such as adding a new loading bay, or temporary, such as closing the road for an event.
