Forecast: Mainly dry this afternoon with sunny spells, though with the odd light wintry shower possible. A cold, dry and clear start to the night but with banks of cloud rolling in from the north around midnight. It should remain dry for most areas, but across the South Pennines there is the chance of a snow shower developing, with the materialisation of this reducing the confidence of the forecast a little.
