Learning Support Service
Source teaching assistants directly from the local authority.
The Learning Support Service provides qualified teaching assistants to work with schools, and other educational establishments, in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
All Learning Support Service staff have a DBS Enhanced check for regulated activity (which includes the barred list) and are qualified to the relevant TA/STA standards.
The Learning Support Service deploys staff in schools across the Westmorland and Furness Local Authority area and on both short and long deployments.
