Lorries and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs)

If you drive a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) or a large goods vehicle (LGV), there are certain restrictions and guidelines you should know about if you drive through Cumbria. These include:

• HGV routes
• HGV timber transport routes
• HGV weight limits

If you plan to drive an abnormal load weighing 40 tonnes or more, you should submit notice to move an abnormal load.
