Office Manager

St George’s C of E School are seeking to appoint an Office Manager to start as soon as possible.

BS9-£33,366 ( A) pro rata (£17.29 p/h) 37 hours per week (Term Time Only Plus 3 weeks holiday closure) – permanent position

This is a wonderful opportunity will suit a School Administrator or school staff member with relevant experience looking to progress; or a candidate with strong experience within the finance or personnel sector. Whatever your background, you will need to be a well organised and a resilient self-starter who will have the capacity to carry out the following tasks:
•    Administer and input financial and payroll systems, ensuring that all aspects of these systems are managed in accordance with agreed policies, timetables and tax regulations
•    Work within the School Admissions process to support parents and liaise with the Local Authority
•    Provide administrative support with regard to admissions, charges and government funding for the School Nursery
•    Support the Head Teacher and Bursar in the monitoring and control of income streams and expenditure cost centres for agreed budgets areas
•    Support financial procedures, providing information to the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body to enable them to monitor and control their budgets effectively
•    Be accountable for the management of service contracts; monitoring all insurance policies with a view to achieving cost effectiveness; and ensuring that St George’s achieves best value. 
•    Support the financial control of capital expenditure on buildings, grounds and ICT; supporting the Head with the placing of contracts and appointment and project management of contractors
•    To direct the School Administrator to ensure efficient and effective running of the general office as one of our school’s main points of public contact
•    To organise HR matters; liaising with the Head Teacher on procedure and practice to ensure compliance with employment legislation and school policies eg. recruitment, discipline and grievance, absence management, contractual / pay matters, etc
•    To organise H & S systems and monitor when contractors are due for servicing/maintance of various items
•    To support cleaners in their role and order cleaning equipment 

Knowledge of school information systems such as Scholar Pack and payroll systems would be advantageous. An understanding of how important the smooth operation these key systems are to a successful and happy school is a must. Our children would like someone who is ‘kind, organised and good at using school technology’.

Roose Community Primary School is a happy, thriving primary school, situated on the outskirts of Barrow towards the Coast Road. We have approximately 200 children on roll, in seven classes from Reception to year 6.

Our team of experienced staff deliver a rich, broad and balanced curriculum covering the requirements of the National Curriculum and much more. We aim to raise attainment through carefully planned programmes of work matched to individual needs, delivered in a stimulating learning environment. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated teaching assistant, who will contribute to our creative and excellent quality learning experiences. KS2 experience is desirable but not essential.  Applications from STA/HLTA equivalent will be considered.

Teaching Assistant/Early Years Educator Apprentice

To complement the professional work of teachers in line with St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School’s policies and guidance. This may involve supporting learning activities for individuals/groups or for whole classes. It will involve supporting assessment, recording and reporting on achievement, behaviour for learning, progress, and development.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

Working hours - Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.15/5.00pm.
37 hours a week (duration 1 year 6 months)
1 day per week will be spent training at Kendal College
Annual wage - £12,313.60
