Site Manager / Caretaker

Commencement Date: October 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter 

The Governors of this friendly, successful, one form entry, Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed Site Manager/Caretaker who can make a significant contribution to the school. 

Working Hours: 20hrs per week. Permanent All Year Round (7.15 am – 9.15am and 4.00pm-6.00pm, shift pattern negotiable) Salary: OP5 £24,702(B) pro rata (£12.80 an hour)

The main focus of the role is to undertake repair & maintenance, security of the building, health & safety, fire safety and statutory compliance. Other duties include undertaking safety audits and risk assessments and ensuring regular health and safety checks are completed e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting and legionella testing. 

We are looking for someone who:
•    Has a positive attitude and can build excellent relationships with colleagues and the whole school community
•    Has a sound awareness of health and safety issues 
•    Can manage the planned maintenance programme and oversee the delivery of statutory compliance tasks
•    Can maintain accurate and up to date records
•    Can carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs
•    Can spot opportunities to improve efficiencies and working practices and take appropriate action.

 Basic experience of joinery, plumbing, repairs and maintenance would be an advantage, but not essential. Informal visits to the school are warmly encouraged if you wish. We Seek an enthusiastic Behaviour Hub Lead to join our team to provide support to students who are challenging the expectations of the school.

If you are supportive and understand the needs of children with experience in working in education or similar setting we would like to hear from you.

The Successful candidate will be highly motivated and be competent with IT particularly Microsoft office.

Excellent attention to detail, grammatical and numerical accuracy and organisational skills are essential, as is discretion and confidentiality. You will also possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and be competent in managing your time.
