Furness Education Trust is a multi-academy trust based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria serving the Furness Community, located near the centre of the historic shipbuilding town, we are close to the southern boundary of the Lake District National Park. Currently comprised of six academies including Furness Academy and five primary schools, the Trust aims to develop best practice by collaborating and working together to give the best of everything to every child.
Furness Academy is looking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic Administration Manager. The successful candidate will manage and be accountable for the Academy office, reception, administrative staff and functions. This post would suit a resilient, highly driven and self-motivated individual.

You will:
- Distribute and manage the administrative workload to ensure it is completed in a timely and professional manner
- Manage the school’s management information system (SIMS)
- Produce and update the recommended practices handbook for administration and reception staff
- Accurately maintain the students timetable as directed by the Assistant Headteacher
- Support the finance and HR services in the Academy in the distribution and collection of key documents
- Be responsible for the administration of the ‘cover’ system for teaching staff
- Manage the administrative staff with due regard to employment and health and safety legislation
- Establish the department objectives and priorities
- Oversee and supervise the daily activities of the administration team
