Permanent, Term Time Only plus 2 weeks (40 weeks worked)

30 hours per week

During the Exam season this role will be full time (37 hours per week)

 The Governors of St Bernard’s Catholic High School in Barrow-in-Furness are looking to appoint Data and Examinations Officer. St Bernard’s is a successful Catholic comprehensive school, which is part of the Diocese of Lancaster, serving the community of Furness and located on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

We would welcome applications from someone who has:

  • NVQ3 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline.
  • A high level of planning and organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • The ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
  • High level organisational, ICT and administrative skills

You will:

  • Distribute and manage the administrative workload to ensure it is completed in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage the school’s management information system (SIMS)
  • Produce and update the recommended practices handbook for administration and reception staff
  • Accurately maintain the students timetable as directed by the Assistant Headteacher
  • Support the finance and HR services in the Academy in the distribution and collection of key documents
  • Be responsible for the administration of the ‘cover’ system for teaching staff
  • Manage the administrative staff with due regard to employment and health and safety legislation
  • Establish the department objectives and priorities
  • Oversee and supervise the daily activities of the administration team
