Part-time Senior Teaching Assistant

Askam Village School is a friendly and welcoming school where ‘Everybody Matters and Every Moment Counts’. 
There are currently 170 children on roll from Nursery to Year 6.

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Teaching Assistant to join our lovely school as soon as is possible. Senior Teaching Assistant – 30 hours 
The successful applicant will work primarily in Key Stage 1 to support individual children, sometimes in the classroom and at other times delivering specific interventions for pupils. The successful applicant will be supported by the classteacher and SENCo. 
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9am-3.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch.
STA (30 hours) 

PCD7 - Annual Full Time Salary £27,711 to £28,624 (£19,248 pro rata) £14.36 per hour - term time 

The post is temporary until 31st August 2025 (linked to funding), to start as soon as possible. There may be opportunities to extend the contact if funding continues.

Our team of experienced staff deliver a rich, broad and balanced curriculum. We aim to raise attainment through carefully planned programmes of work matched to individual needs. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated teaching assistant, who will contribute to our creative and quality learning experiences.

The successful candidate will:
-    Have previous experience of working 1-1 and supporting small groups
-    Have a good knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
-    Have experience of working with pupils with additional needs.
-    Hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
-    Have high expectations and demonstrate a commitment to raising standards and achieving the best for all of our children
-    Be an excellent communicator, flexible and enthusiastic
-    Be a committed team member but also able to work with independence when required and willing to become involved in the wider life of the school 
-  Work with families and  other agencies to support pupils
