SEND Teaching Assistant x3 – Ireleth St Peter’s CofE Primary School (ISP)

Required for Monday 24th February or as soon as possible thereafter. 
Salary range: PCD5 £25,183 pro-rata FTE, term-time only
Term time only, Fixed Term until 31st August 2025 initially with the potential to due to extend contracts based on funding available.

Ireleth St Peter's CofE Primary School is a small, village church school situated in a beautiful rural location overlooking the Duddon Estuary. With four mixed-age classes and a nursery for children aged 3, this close-knit community offers a warm, family-like atmosphere. The school's large grounds and outdoor spaces, including an outdoor building, provide ample opportunities for hands-on learning and exploration. Ireleth St Peter's has strong links with the local church and community, fostering a rich and engaging educational experience for our pupils.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at Ireleth St Peter's CofE Primary School. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our pupils, particularly children with an Education and Health Care Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEND, focusing on their individual needs and learning goals
•    Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all pupils
•    Collaborate with the SENCO, class teacher, and other professionals to develop and implement effective strategies and interventions
•    Monitor and track the progress of SEND pupils, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
•    Promote the inclusion and participation of SEND pupils in all aspects of school life
•    Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SEND provision

Requirements:
•    Experience working with children with SEND, particularly in the early years
•    Knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and best practises
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues
•    Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of SEND pupils
•    Relevant qualifications in SEND, education, or a related field including Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Desirable Qualities:
•    Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of SEND pupils
•    Familiarity with assistive technologies and their application in the classroom
•    Strong organisational and time management skills
•    Enthusiasm for professional development and a willingness to learn and grow

Salary and Benefits:
The part time positions offer a salary of PCD5 £25,183 pro-rata FTE, term-time only.

Position 1: 28.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Position 2: 16.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Position 3: 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
