The Lakes School is seeking to employ a motivated and positive individual to join our team as a Teacher of History.  The ability to contribute to the wider Humanities curriculum or the wider curriculum offer of the school will be advantageous for a candidate who is seeking a more full-time post.

This post would be suitable for either an NQT/ECT or a more experienced teacher, but regardless of length of service, the successful candidate will be highly motivated, creative and innovative. They will challenge and support all students across the ability range and use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students fully and help them make strong progress.  They will be committed to the notion that History is an invaluable part of the curriculum, both on its own merits and as a support to other subjects.  History consistently proves to be a popular option at GCSE and attracts a strong cohort of the most able students every year at A-level.

Cover Supervisor

The Governors of St Bernard’s Catholic High School in Barrow-in-Furness are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor.

St Bernard’s is a successful Catholic comprehensive school, which is part of the Diocese of Lancaster, serving the community of Furness and located on the edge of the Lake District National Park. We are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to provide supervision of students. 

Successful candidates will need to respond to questions, generally assist students to undertake set activities and to uphold standards of behaviour in the classroom. In addition to cover needs, there will also be a requirement to work alongside existing staff in curriculum areas providing general support for departments. This is a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the school and the successful applicant must be IT literate and competent in using a variety of software packages.

Internal Support Unit (ISU) Manager

Hours of work: full time (37 hours/week), Permanent.
