The Performing Arts Technician will be responsible for: 
•   Provide support in lessons, under the direction of teachers, to improve teaching and learning experiences in both music and performing arts so that students make progress
•   Contribute to the enrichment opportunities on offer in both departments by leading extracurricular activities
•   Support students with technical preparation for performance
•   Preparation and maintenance of resources in performing arts
•   The operation of professional theatre and music equipment
•   Assistance with internal and external activities such as open evenings, shows, exhibitions
•   Using specialist skills, training and experience, support pupils in practical learning activities under the guidance of the teacher

Required immediately, an enthusiastic and talented Senior Teaching Assistant (STA) to work within our Key Stage Two team based within a Year Three class. We are looking for someone with a positive outlook, who is energetic and enthusiastic to join our strong team here at Ghyllside. The role involves supporting a learner with complex needs to manage a highly individualised timetable within our mainstream environment. You will be working with another adult throughout the day to support in lessons, help the learner to manage their own needs with particular regard to sensory stimuli, some help with feeding, dressing and toileting and learning how to communicate and interact with others. 

The successful candidate will be a highly organised and self-motivated individual who will be able to work constructively with other adults in school to plan for and teach a timetable which focuses on vestibular, sensory and academic needs.  Teaching life skills is an integral part of the taught timetable. An understanding of the need to celebrate every small success and a willingness to embrace the interests of the individual learner would be advantageous.
