Low Furness is a small, happy, successful primary school in rural south Cumbria, with strong links to the local church and a central role in its community. Our long-serving head will retire at the end of this academic year and we are excited to recruit a new Headteacher who will bring fresh energy and ideas to the school.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Class Team at Kendal Nursery School.  The Governors wish to appoint two friendly and approachable members of staff who are passionate about supporting young children’s learning whilst gaining a level 2 qualification. This vacancy will be working in one of our classrooms alongside experienced classroom professionals.

Hours of work will be approximately 37 each week between 8am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with one day of learning at Kendal College.

Visits to the school are welcomed by prior arrangement with the Headteacher.

The Governing Body and Headteacher are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated SEN teaching assistant to join our dedicated Nursery team.

Due to the needs of one of our pupils we are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant on a 1-1 basis who is caring and kind but able to be firm and has a proven understanding of a range of SEN needs.

We would like the successful candidate to share our vision of providing creative and stimulating learning opportunities to develop the whole child. The successful candidate will help to provide a safe and happy learning environment which enables every child to flourish.

Essential Qualifications

English and Mathematics GCSE (Grade A-C)

Experience working with or caring for children and young people

NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant childcare/education area

Desirable Qualifications

Paediatric/First Aid Certificate

Experience of working with or caring for children within an early years setting.

Experience of working in a classroom setting.

NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant childcare/education area
