Teaching Assistants

Required 1st September 2024.

Teaching Assistants x 3

PCD 5 £23,893 per annum , pro-rata (hourly rate £12.38)

2 x Teaching Assistants - 32.5 hours per week term time only + 5 days inset (Part time permanent contract)
1 x Teaching Assistant - 32.5 hours per week term time only + 5 days inset (Part time fixed term contract 1.09.2024 to 31.08.2025 linked to the number of SEND children in school)

All roles Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm.

Please email admin@grayrigg.cumbria.sch.uk for an application pack.

As our school continues to grow, so does our staff team. We are looking for 3 wonderful TAs to support some of our children with additional needs. We have 2 permanent TA posts to support children and a further temporary post for 1 year (although most people who have come to us temporarily have ended up permanent). We are filling two new roles and one existing role from which the TA has successfully applied to be a teacher with us. Although the roles are all for 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus one week of INSET, we would be happy to hear from people who would prefer less hours to job share and also apprentices (an apprentice would be offered a 1 year contract whilst they complete their apprenticeship).

We actually refer to TAs as teaching partners here - don’t worry it doesn’t mean more work but more a recognition that we could not do our jobs without you and that you play a key role in the success of the children - so much more than assistant to the teacher.

One of the most important things in our school is a sense of Belonging and Justice, as a result of this, we need anyone who applies to work with our school to also recognise the importance of the school being a space where everyone belongs. Most of the roles will involve some, if not all 1 to 1 work, small group work, some general support and will include playground duty.

Please apply if
●    You love children and love seeing them grow, intellectually, socially and wonderfully
●    You love to see every child reach further than they ever thought they could
●    You are hardworking
●    You like to be outside
●    You can think outside of the box
●    You love a child led approach
●    You love to encourage risk taking
Please don’t apply if
●    You only like to be indoors or melt when it gets wet
●    You like to be in charge (the children are in charge here)
●    You like to stay clean and tidy - we love mud and mess

You can get a good feel for our school from our social media pages and further information is included in the application pack available - please email admin@grayrigg.cumbria.sch.uk for a copy of this.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 20th June 2024 at midday.

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified, and this will be by the end of 21st June 2024.

Interviews will take place 27th and 28th June.  Please note that referees will be contacted prior to the interview.

HOW TO APPLY
Please email admin@grayrigg.cumbria.sch.uk for a copy of the application pack, complete all sections of the Westmorland & Furness Council job application form. Email your completed application form and a covering letter to admin@grayrigg.cumbria.sch.uk before the closing date.

Grayrigg CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
