If so, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our large, dedicated team helping students access learning in the classroom. These permanent full-time or part-time roles (depending on your requirements) will start on 1 September 2024.

We are looking for experienced learning support assistants and/or for those considering a career in education, either in learning support or to gain experience before undertaking teacher training.
The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a passion for learning that will inspire and motivate children to be independent learners. You will need to have high expectations for the students you work with; we will provide training to enable you to become confident in the classroom.

The role requires level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy. Previous relevant experience is helpful but not essential.

Purpose
Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff to:
•    Build positive relationships with students to promote self-esteem and to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
•    Support students with their social, emotional and mental health needs.
•    Provide one-to-one support for students with special educational needs, ensuring that they integrate as fully as possible in the activities undertaken by other students and make the desired progress.
•    Assist in classroom management and behaviour support.
•    Assist with the development and delivery of individual education, support and care plans.
•    Provide tutoring and additional support to students who require extra assistance.
•    Assist classroom teachers in the planning, management and/or preparation of resources.
•    Cover lessons when the regular teacher is absent, to a maximum of 3 lessons each week, and/or supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, the primary focus being to maintain good order and to keep students on task.
•    Communicate effectively with students, parents and other members of staff.
