 St Bernard’s is a successful Catholic comprehensive school and part of the Diocese of Lancaster, serving the community of Furness and is on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

We are seeking to appoint a permanent, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Lead Teacher of Science to join our school as soon as possible. The candidate should be an exceptional Teacher of Science with a commitment to academic excellence and helping every child succeed. This role will also have responsibility for whole school cross curriculum development, primary liaison and developing teaching and learning in the department. We have a well resourced Science department and have close links to our schools within the Trust.

High Hesket CE School is a vibrant, forward thinking Church of England primary school located in a village setting with strong links to our wider school, church and global community. From September, we are seeking to appoint a Clerk to Governors to provide administrative support and guidance to our proactive and supportive Governing Body. 

The post requires attendance at our half termly meetings of the full Governing Body and it’s committees (minimum 6 meetings per year) which generally take place in the evenings between 5.30 and 8.30pm. The role is equivalent to 50 hours per year which includes attendance at meetings and completing all of the related paperwork and tasks. 

The successful candidate will:
•    Advise the Governing Body on governance, procedural and constitutional matters
•    Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for each meeting of the Governing Body and its committees
•    Maintain records and manage information
•    Ensure confidentiality and compliance with GDPR regulations
•    Communicate effectively in a range of formats and be familiar with relevant ICT programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel
