Operations Coordinator

The Governors of St Bernard’s Catholic High School in Barrow-in-Furness are looking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate Operations Coordinator.

Permanent, Full time 37 hours per week, full year
or Term time only plus 4 weeks (42 weeks worked)
(for the right candidate there may be flexibility around the working hours)

Required start: As soon as possible.

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for proactively planning, developing and monitoring operational activities for the whole school in liaison with the relevant departments and senior staff, including Health and Safety, General Data Protection Regulations, Data, Emergency Planning, Estate and Asset Management and other operations and compliance responsibilities as required. The role is responsible for management of the site team and assisting with supervising other staff.

St Bernard’s is a successful Catholic comprehensive school, which is part of the Diocese of Lancaster, serving the community of Furness and located on the edge of the Lake District National Park.
We would welcome applications from someone who has: 

●    The ability to work proactively and independently with general supervision.
●    High level organisational, planning, ICT and administrative skills 
●    Experience of supervising or managing others. 
●    The ability to relate well to children and adults. 
●    The ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.

School Administrator

Starting Date – Monday 22nd April

Due to increasing pupil numbers, we are looking to appoint a motivated, skilled and hardworking administrative assistant.  This is an amazing opportunity for the right person to join our welcoming and vibrant village school.  The post would suit a well-organised, adaptable, friendly and conscientious person, who would work alongside our School Business Manager to undertake a range of routine tasks including: operating our school reception - welcoming visitors, answering the telephone and responding to emails; liaising with our families; leading the administrative arrangements for our after-school clubs; and a range of financial duties.

The successful candidate will:
•    have experience of undertaking administrative-type duties within an office environment;

•    work closely with the school business manager and headteacher to ensure continuity and proactive shared working practice;

Personal Assistant for Headteacher

To provide an efficient and high quality confidential Personal Assistant and administrative support service to the Headteacher.

 The Personal Assistant to Headteacher is responsible for: 
•    Management of the electronic diary for the Headteacher
•    The provision of administrative and secretarial support for the Headteacher
•    Management of resources such as formatting policies and publishing the Headteachers letters on the school website
•    Provide advice and support to ensure committees work in compliance to the appropriate legal and regulatory frameworks
•    Managing the organisation and administration of meetings for the Headteacher and Governance Board
