High Hesket CE School is a vibrant, forward thinking Church of England primary school located in a village setting with strong links to our wider school, church and global community. From September, we are seeking to appoint a Clerk to Governors to provide administrative support and guidance to our proactive and supportive Governing Body. 

The post requires attendance at our half termly meetings of the full Governing Body and it’s committees (minimum 6 meetings per year) which generally take place in the evenings between 5.30 and 8.30pm. The role is equivalent to 50 hours per year which includes attendance at meetings and completing all of the related paperwork and tasks. 

The successful candidate will:
•    Advise the Governing Body on governance, procedural and constitutional matters
•    Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for each meeting of the Governing Body and its committees
•    Maintain records and manage information
•    Ensure confidentiality and compliance with GDPR regulations
•    Communicate effectively in a range of formats and be familiar with relevant ICT programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel

The Governing Body wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths teacher on a 0.47fte contract.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference to children’s progress and attainment in maths at our rural, oversubscribed school in the heart of The Lake District. 

The maths department at JRS makes a significant contribution to our excellent progress figures and 78% of our students achieved a 4 or higher in maths in 2023, our best ever outcomes. We are looking for a colleague with the personality, character and teaching ability to further push our maths attainment for all students.
