Part Time, Relief / Casual, Term Time Only

Required start: May 2024

St Bernard’s is a successful Catholic comprehensive school and part of the Diocese of Lancaster, serving the community of Furness and is on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

You would be involved in assisting an experienced team of invigilators in the setting up of examinations and would be working as a member of a team aimed at ensuring the fair and proper conduct of examinations in a calm environment that enables students to perform to the best of their ability.

The Governors of Dean Barwick of seeking a new Head Teacher to start in September 2024

Established in 1671, we are a Voluntary Aided School situated in a small village in idyllic surroundings in the southern part of the Lake District. Dean Barwick School has always been an integral part of the village with the pupils, staff and parents contributing to the wider community wherever possible.

Under the instruction/guidance of senior staff: provide general support in the Design Technology Department, including preparation and maintenance of resources and support to staff and pupils.

 The successful candidate will: 
•    Use specialist skills, training and experience to support pupils in practical learning activities under the guidance of the teacher. 
•    Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and proactive working environment which is also healthy and safe, and to report all health and safety concerns to the appropriate person in accordance with school policy
•    Monitor and manage stock and supplies for the specific curriculum area, within an agreed budget, cataloguing resources and carrying out audits as required; obtaining resources as required in accordance with Financial Standing Orders.

 To lead and manage the accurate collection, collation, analysis and distribution of student data
· Research and investigate data systems and reporting tools, which will improve the productivity, efficiency and overall effectiveness of the school
· To ensure systems for tracking student progress throughout the year to support teaching staff to ensure students reach their full potential
· To create and manage systems which enable teachers to teach and students to learn
· Lead and proactively promote, collaborate and drive the positive and effective use of data across thee school
· Work closely with Senior and Middle Leaders to determine information requirements and provide relevant solutions.

·To manage and develop systems and procedures relating to SIMS including student record database ensuring accuracy of data and more efficient use of teaching and admin staff time. Liaise with external agencies to ensure best value is received for the school in relation to SIMS and Data Support
